Be good to your heart... EAT MORE VEG!


Be good to your heart, eat more veg! The colorful plant foods are good sources antioxidants, fiber, calcium, potassium, all sorts of vitamins, ..... The secret to getting the broadest array of beneficial nutrients is to eat a variety of differently colored vegetables.

We try to offer to offer you variety of colors in our salads, sides and even in main dishes. As we try to be creative with what is available seasonally and locally, we urge you to do the same. What I mean by that is, think outside of the box (container).

For example Mrs. D. ordered the slaw from our last weeks menu but she browned some ground meat, added garlic, hot sauce, soy and green onions to it, then sprinkled some sesame seeds and "Yummo!!!" is what she said.

So, If you or your family are not big fan of veg, perhaps there is a way you can add or mix the heart healthy plant based foods with your favorite ingredients to get the benefits.
