The Healing Power of Food!

Healing foods- It is obvious that I love food, eating and preparing them! I nurture with food. I thank with food. I show my love with food. I entertain with lots of food, no gift in my opinion is better than food. Recently a very close friend of mine was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that is life changing. This brave gladiator of a woman, has taken full control of the situation and is doing everything possible to nip this thing in the bud. As she learns more about her dietary protocol; I have this urge to make a big pot of something, go sit with her, hug her for hours, and watch her eat. Well, that is not really normal behavior now, is it? So, since she has been a regular customer of E&E for the past 2+ years, I am not her mother, it would be pretty creepy if I show up at her house, stay for hours cuddling and force feeding her, I thought instead this weeks menu should focus on anti-inflammatory, autoimmune friendly, detox foods. This way I know she will be eating a few meals this week designed for her and filled with lots of love.

That has to have some healing power, not just for her but for all of you, right?!!

Grass fed beef bone broth, fermented brassica, Sockeye salmon(most fish really), turmeric, ginger, snow and snap peas, zucchini, coconut milk and oils, green beans, cilantro, kale, broccoli, raw beets, micro-greens, watercress, celery and celery root, sweet potatoes are among some items I read about it these past few days trying to understand the healing power of food and its effect on autoimmune disease.

Another quick note, I couldn't resist getting the salmon from Alaska this week as I trust the source, Alaska Tim, to give me the best quality sockeye salmon available on the planet.
