INSPIRATION...from my garden
Herbs- Inspiration for this weeks menu is coming from my garden. I recently had bunch of evergreens pulled out of my front yard and decided to replace them with perennial herbs. It's going to take a couple of years for it to look right but it sure was fun planting the herbs and smelling them. I just can not wait to use them for cooking!!!
Herbs are much more than a garnish. Fresh and dried, they have powerful healing properties. Rosemary, Sage, peppermint, and oregano increase blood flow in the brain and promote alertness. Lavender has antibacterial qualities and helps you relax and boosts immunity. Basil is used to treat diabetes, digestive disorder and skin problems. Sage is found helpful with anxiety....
Anyway, though we always use tons of fresh and dried herbs in our cooking, this week we will try to highlight them a bit more than usual.
We are looking forward to cooking this weeks menu for you; and hope that you will be enjoying it as much as we will be preparing it.
From everyone at Ezie and Emil... It's All about food
